OUR WORK

Little kids, BIG things!

Hi! We’re Lucia & Luna

We’re sisters, philanthropists & youth activists. We believe you’re never too young to change the world.

Meet Lucia

Hi! I’m Lucia and I am 10 years old. I have been working with In a Perfect World since I was 5 and a half! When I was getting ready to go to kindergarten, I wanted my mom to buy me two backpacks. But she explained that I really only needed one. She also told me that there are kids right in our community that don’t even have backpacks! I was so shocked, but I wanted to do something about it. So I started Lucia’s Backpack Drive and raised enough money to get backpacks full of school supplies to hundreds of kids. Then we had a big arts festival for the kids and the Mayor of Los Angeles even showed up to help! Now I do my backpack drive every year and we’ve helped thousands of kids get what they need to succeed in school.

Meet Luna

I’m Lucia’s little sister and I’m 7 years old. I’ve been tagging along to her projects in the community since I was really little. Then when I turned 4, I wanted to do my own thing! So, I rode my bike in a “trike-a-thon” for St. Jude Research Hospital and raised a lot of money to help sick kids get medicine. I was really proud of that! Then I started working on Earth Day projects, and helping Lucia with her backpack drive. Then together we launched the SOUPer Bowl to fight against childhood hunger.

Since then, we have been learning about the problems in our communities and working together to  make a difference. We have tackled issues like childhood hunger, homelessness, childhood cancer, climate change, and neurodiversity awareness.

Follow along and see what happens when you give kids the tools they need to be change makers! We’re proof that you don’t have to wait until you’re big to do BIG things!
