As we move ahead in 2013, we would like to take moment to reflect on all the wonderful things we accomplished in 2012. Thanks to your support, we made great strides in empowering children, bettering our communities and providing access to education for those without.

In 2012…

IAPW Youth Ambassadors made a difference.

Youth Ambassadors lead volunteers during our annual Earth Day event, partnering with Heal the Bay for a beach clean up in Santa Monica.

We empowered communities.

Through our REACH program (Rural Education and Community Harmony) IAPW built our fifth international school. Based in Berette, Haiti, the school is host to 200 eager students and 19 teachers! IAPW schools in Mali & Nicaragua continued to flourish, enrolling more children & increasing the percentage of girls in attendance.

We helped teachers, students & children in need.

Through our Giving Tree program, IAPW funded over 275 classroom projects in high-poverty schools. IAPW’s funding has now benefitted over 15,000 students in Los Angeles.

We expanded.

Through our partnership with Free Arts Minnesota IAPW supported mentors working with homeless youth at The Bridge for Youth to create a mural that adorns the walls of a common space shared by youth in the transitional housing unit. The simple idea that a piece of themselves would be immortalized for future youth who come to The Bridge was enough to engage the youth in creating a welcoming, warm and inviting piece of ‘CommUNITY’ art.

We achieved.
